I started this because I wanted to see if I could make a movie live on canvas. Then I added a crowd, a tiny theater economy, and a lot of ridiculous B-movie titles. The film is not wallpaper: a chase or scare changes the room, and a happy crowd pays out at the credits.

How do you play Funtime Theater?

Pick a show, start the screening, and catch the lit seat before its clock runs out. Each correct catch moves the target and earns tickets; the concession counter turns those tickets into permanent upgrades.

Does Funtime Theater show real movies?

No. Each screening assembles an original B-movie title, cast, tagline, story beats, and canvas scenes from hand-written parts in the game. It does not stream or copy a real film.

Does the movie engine use generative AI?

No. The movie engine is deterministic code running in the browser. A seed picks from authored story parts, so the same seed can build the same ridiculous show without calling an AI service. The gallery splash is a separate custom illustration, not a frame generated by the runtime.

Does Funtime Theater save progress?

Yes. Tickets, unlocked shows, upgrades, and achievements stay in this browser's local storage. A supported in-progress run keeps its score, clock, mode, and active concessions; the room and movie are rebuilt when you return. There is no account and the save is not uploaded.

Can I play with a keyboard or on a phone?

Yes. On a keyboard, focus follows the active target and Enter or Space catches it. The same seat grid and lobby controls work with touch, and the layout reflows for smaller screens.
